Injured, what now?
I've got good news and I've got bad news today. It is Week 3 Day 2 of my P90X3 journey, and I'm happy to say, I got it done! I've done this many times, but it still can be tough. The more I do it, the harder I push, and the more I can do. Anyway, that's the good news. :)
The bad news is that I seem to have tweaked my back or lower left hip while doing some plyo lunges(jump lunges). It was towards the end of the work out, and once I felt it I had to revert to doing some modifications for every exercise after. I know you're probably thinking I must have had bad form with caused this injury. That's possible, but I really do pride my self on concentrating on good form.
So what now? Well, my plan is to rest it out. This has happened to me in the past, and it will take a few days to go away. Although I cannot workout, I will keep my mind right and stay focused. What I mean is that I will not thing, this is the end of my fitness journey. I will not think, "I can eat junk, because what's the use". I will be thinking about what I will be doing once I have recovered. I will think that this is a great time to rest and recover since, I am usually go, go, go, all the time. I will keep in mind that I will be back at it embracing the suck in no time. I have a race this weekend, and I am hoping that I am recovered by then. I leave it up to God. All I can do is wait and see.
Anyway, that's a little update on my fitness journey. I am still smiling, not letting it get me down. For those of you injured right now. Keep your head up. It will get better. Keep your focus on the goal. You can reach it, if you believe you can.

Monthly Running Challenge with Nike Plus
I started a monthly running Challenge last May 2015. I started these challenges to get myself and others get out and run. As an avid Obstacle Course Racer, running is a very important part of my training. I found myself not getting enough running miles every week, so I decided to start a running challenge. Luckily, I found that the Nike Plus app allows you to create challenges, making it easy to keep track of all challengers mileage.
It's pretty simple to set up. First you'll need to download the app and create an account. It will be helpful to add friends in the app as well. They will be potential challengers. In the menu, select "Challenges" and then "Start A New Challenge". You will then create a name for your challenge, the distance you would like to achieve during the challenge, the duration of the challenge, and the challengers. Once you've done that, hit "Send Invite". Make sure all your challengers are added at that time. The app does not allow you to add additional challengers once it has been created. Your only option will be to recreate the challenge.

Although, it's great to see who has completed first, second, and third, I like to make sure everyone knows it is not about who gets there first. My challenges are about helping people complete the challenge, and just doing more than they would normally do.

The New Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire
I recieved the Garmin Fenix 3 in the mail today. I am going to test it out this week as much as possible so that I can do a review on it. It will mostly be on the features I myself will use it for, which is running, trail biking, and everyday activities. I will also add other things I'm interested in like notifications, widgets, pc connection, etc.
This will be be my first review posted on Youtube, and hopefully not my last. So, if you like working out, fitness gadgets, running shoes, etc., make sure to stay tuned. My goal is to share my experiences, tips, and opinions about things I use for fitness, and hopefully others will find this information helpful.

P90X3 and Insanity Max 30 Hybrid Workout Schedule
I wanted a workout schedule that included weight training, cardio, core strengthening, and stretching. As an obstacle racer I feel that it is very important to be strong in all these areas, so I decided to create this P90X3/Insanity Max 30 Hybrid Schedule. I also included scheduled runs, because running is a big part of OCR(Obstacle Course Racing).
Who should consider doing the P90X3 and Insanity Max 30 Hybrid?
I recommend this schedule to those who have completed P90X3 and Insanity Max 30, or if you are in great shape wanting to taking it to the next level. I do not recommend this hybrid program to those just starting/beginners. Although these workouts can be done by beginners with modifications, this hybrid may be too much for those just starting. Two workouts in one day can cause beginners to over train and can lead to injury.
P90X3 will give me the upper body strength, balance, and stretching I need. I used all of the strength training workout from P90X3 to help build muscle. I've incorporated X3 Yoga for flexibility and balance. X3 Abs will help with my core strength.
Insanity Max 30 will give me the speed and endurance I need. I added all of the workouts from Insanity Max 30 into this hybrid. The cardio is top notch even though it is only 30 minutes long. These workout will help me keep my speed and endurance while still strengthening my legs, chest, and core.
